Please join us at the AISA Hobart Branch for a face-to-face meeting and networking opportunity with a live and interactive presentation with guest speaker Nick Savvides, who is the Senior Director of Strategic Business at Forcepoint, for a discussion on the data security risks which need to be considered in a hybrid working environment.

With data security and breach prevention being a key focus for businesses across Tasmania, AISA has invited information security expert and cybersecurity industry veteran, Nick Savvides – to the meeting to share insights into ‘Data security risk considerations in a hybrid working environment’. Nick is an engaging speaker and this talk promises to be educational as he shares key data security considerations and risk mitigation strategies to effectively prevent data breaches occurring across a hybrid work environment. 

Post networking drinks and light refreshments to be held at the Jack Greene (49 Salamanca Place, Hobart) from 7pm.


Speaker:
Nick Savvides
Nick works with organisations across Australia and Asia Pacific so has intimate knowledge of the security risks organisations are experiencing as part transforming to a hybrid environment, including rising security incidents resulting from staff working from home and the security management challenges IT and Security teams face across networks and could applications.

Nick is an information security expert, with over 20 years of experience. Before joining Forcepoint, he spent 12 years at Symantec in various technology and sales roles across Asia Pacific and Japan. Most recently, he was Symantec’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) for Asia-Pacific, responsible for the company’s portfolio strategy and innovation roadmap, and providing local market insights that influenced global strategic planning and product development.

Prior to Symantec, Nick worked for the University of Melbourne in various IT-related roles. Most notably, he managed the high-performance computing technologies at the Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computing and was responsible for developing nuclear microprobe analysis tools. Nick is a Science graduate of The University of Melbourne majoring in Physics and Computer Science.
