Melbourne Breakfast Branch Meeting - April 10

Join us at the next Melbourne Branch Breakfast

Blockchain, AI, Quantum: Three technologies making cyber security more complicated

Blockchain, artificial intelligence, and quantum computing are getting a lot of attention. While often mentioned in the context of cyber security, there is limited discussion of how they will change the work of cyber security practitioners. This high-level presentation will examine:

  • What does blockchain do, from a cyber security perspective?
  • Will artificial intelligence make our jobs easier or harder?
  • Where does quantum computing take us?

Speaker: Greg Adamson, Enterprise Fellow for Cyber Security, University of Melbourne

Greg Adamson has been working with cyber security since 1993, when he established the information security role at the Australian Quarantine and Inspection Service. Before leading industry engagement for cyber security at the University of Melbourne, he worked with ANZ, Fujitsu UK and Telstra among others. Greg is on the executive of the IEEE Global Initiative on Ethically Aligned Design. He has worked with blockchain since 2013.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the speaker at the end of the presentation.

Light refreshments will be served after the presentation.
