CyberCX 2020 Application Security Hackathon
The 2020 Application Security Hackathon is a capture-the-flag competition for information security professionals, code developers and university students across Australia and New Zealand. Individuals or teams of up to 4 players will compete remotely. This year there are 2 challenges to choose from catering for a range of abilities, beginner through to advanced. Each challenge (ranging from SQL injection to advanced cryptanalysis and cipher cracking) has a point value based on complexity. But importantly, the featured vulnerabilities have been carefully chosen to simulate the vulnerabilities that are all too commonly found in commercial applications today.
Use capture-the-flag techniques to uncover vulnerabilities in one of two fully functional web applications. Guided by cheat sheets and application security experts, you will become immersed in a “find the vulnerabilities” game where you will quickly learn and apply hacking techniques in a sandbox environment – and all the while, acquire the skills needed to keep data safe.
This event is tailored for information security professionals and code developers looking to test their skills and identify knowledge gaps. It is a hands-on cyber security challenge designed to offer participants practical real-world learning to develop skills.
The challenges involve real websites with simulated traffic, technologies and vulnerabilities that represent actual application behaviours. Unmatched realism delivers long-term memory benefits that “learning by doing” provides to teams that protect your enterprise.

One challenge per team. Please select your challenge upon ticket purchase.
Teams: Compete as a Team, or as a solo player. The maximum number of players per team is 4. If more than 4 players are attending from the same organisation, please split the teams.
