New cyber security guide

Navigating the digital age | The definitive cyber security guide for Directors and Officers

22 September 2016

AISA's CEO, Arno Brok, along with several other esteemed industry veterans, has contributed to a new cyber security guide for Directors and Officers called Navigating the digital age.

In the face of daily security breaches and cyber attacks this new publication will guide Directors and Officers to help them better protect their organisations.

The following excerpt from the publication, written by Mr Arno Brok (pictured), calls for consensus and collaboration within the cyber and information security industry:

"The onslaught of breaches to corporations and threats to critical infrastructure will continue to escalate without consensus and collaboration. If current trends continue, it is likely we won’t have the right sort of cyber security professionals by 2020. The cyber security skills shortage will become more visible and more problematic than many seem to realise. To keep pace, we need to mature the cyber security profession into a proactive, not reactive, model.

For AISA, it is very clear that this challenge cannot be solved by one single entity. It must be an industry-wide collaboration. AISA believes that bringing together key stakeholders from the public and private sectors around Australia is imperative to finding a common solution for this shared problem."

In his contribution to the publication, Mr Brok also focuses on cyber security salaries, building a better workforce for 2020, convincing a lagging industry, helping small businesses and educating the young.
