Hosted by the AISA QLD Branch, please join, Stuart Low, who is the Head of Cyber Security for Telstra Purple – Services Technology Strategy for a face-to-face lunchtime meeting and networking opportunity with an interactive presentation and discussion on the tools and techniques for Carrier Security.

Telstra is in a unique position to see threats via many channels be it mobile (telephony and SMS) or Data IP networks we see a wide range or threats at scale be it DDOS attacks, SMS Scams, early IOC from zero days. Telstra has been implementing its Cleaner Pipes initiatives to block where possible the “known bad” before they reach their intended target. 

In this presentation, we will discuss some of the techniques that we are using to achieve this at scale. We will also explore some of the findings of the latest ClubCISO Information Security Maturity Survey. ClubCISO is a global private members forum for information security leaders working in public and private sector organisations.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the speaker and a light lunch with refreshments will be served before the presentation.

Speaker: Stuart Low
Stuart is an experienced security professional joining Telstra in 2016. Stuart’s 30 plus year career in the ICT industry primary focused on information security for the past 20 years. Stuart various roles has provided him with extensive exposure to many industries including finance, critical infrastructure, transport and government. Additionally, Stuart has held regional CISO roles for international organisations. Stuart’s current role is the Head of Cyber Security for Telstra Purple – Services Technology Strategy. The role is responsible for the strategic direction of the Security practice, defining and uplifting the capabilities and leading performance and continual improvement initiatives for the practice globally
