Speaker 1: Yvette Lejins, IT Risk and Security Manager, Asciano

Topic: It's time to tackle the elephant in the room - Women in Cyber security

Yvette heads the executive role of IT security and risk for the ASX50 company Asciano – Australia’s largest freight rail and cargo ports operator (includes the corporations of Pacific National Rail and Patrick). Yvette's career in information security and risk spans almost 20 years. She has held roles in Australia as well as internationally. Her industry expertise spans Banking, Government, eHealth, and Software Development companies.

As a dynamic but ‘old time’ security leader she 'thinks' she may have seen 'everything' that can happen in the security world, but this is clearly not the case. The greatest reflection she has is on how much the IT Security industry has matured and morphed, and is now taken seriously by the big hitters in companies (finally IT security is on company boards radar).

She loves a robust debate (and her uber security passion will always come out), she runs hard on new projects, and oozes Agile. Finally, she wishes there was an easy solution to the end user security problem..... can we ever stop users clicking on dodgy links?

Yvette is a Sydney Chapter lead for the Australian Women in Security Network. She is also a huge advocate and champion for women in IT security and is keen to encourage and mentor more females to the profession (to have more than 11% female representation in the profession!)

Speaker 2: Joys Tandian, Information Security Manager at Allianz Australia

Topic: What does it take to get more women into the Information Security industry

Joys has been in IT for over 15 years with over a decade of experience in Information Security industry. She joined Allianz Australia in 2006 and has had several roles since – ranging from Identity Access Management, managing the Security Operations team before moving on to Security Risks and Governance area.

Prior to Allianz, Joys was in the consulting industry specialising in Identity and Access Management. Before moving to the consulting industry, she was working as Software Engineer after completing her Bachelor of Computer Engineering (Hons) from University of New South Wales.

Joys is also a mother of two and enjoys spending her time with her family, travelling, good food and science fiction.
