The 2018 Application Security Hackathon is a capture-the-flag competition for Australian information security professionals, code developers and university students. Individuals or teams of up to 4 players will gather in venues in Sydney, Melbourne, Canberra, Brisbane or play remotely. 
 
The challenges cater to a range of abilities and each challenge (ranging from SQL injection to advanced cryptanalysis and cipher cracking) has a point value based on complexity. But importantly, the featured vulnerabilities have been carefully chosen to simulate the vulnerabilities that are all too commonly found in commercial applications today.
