AISA VIC Branch Meeting | 12 June 2024

AISA Branch Meeting
Hosted by the AISA Victorian Branch, please join us for a face-to-face meeting and networking opportunity with an interactive presentation and discussion on Enterprise Security Architecture with our two guest speakers Kirk Nicholls, Director at No Duff Security and Sarit Kannanoor, Security Leader and SABSA Practitioner.

Presentation Title: Enterprise Security Architecture is a team sport
Enterprise security architects occupy a strange and sometimes inscrutable place within the team. They talk to business as well as technical staff, ask odd questions, build layered models and feel strongly about something called traceability. Through their effort's plans, designs and roadmaps are created which guide us forward in a sustainable and balanced way.

As SABSA architects we are taught to approach this work with a high degree of consultation, concern for shared understanding and need for logical consistency. This is best done as a team, because we can only win together.

Kirk and Sarit will share experiences collected from architects who had different degrees of success working with teams. These case studies will be used to discuss the importance of a collaborative team-based approach to the work of the enterprise security architect.

Speakers:

Kirk Nicholls
is the Director at No Duff Security. He is a security advisor with a focus on strategy, architecture and exercises and experience across commercial, government and non-profit enterprises. He is an SES volunteer crew member, SABSA architect, Chair of the APAC Liaison Group of The SABSA Institute (TSI) and founder of SABSA World Australia. Through his work he enables clients to gracefully handle the unexpected.

Sarit Kannanoor
is a security leader with experience in enterprise security architecture, security governance and security management. Sarit comes from an engineering, governance and technology background and looks at security from an "enterprise security as a system" view not just from an Information Security or IT/Cyber Security viewpoint.
