Topic: Updates from the Australian Cyber Security Centre
Nicholas will provide a brief overview of the ACSC and current security trends before spending most of the session outlining some of the new initiatives the ACSC is delivering to improve cyber security across the economy.

Speaker: Nicholas Coates-Lam, ACSC
Nicholas Coates-Lam is the Assistant Director of the Australian Cyber Security Centre’s (ACSC) Brisbane office, a position he has held since 2016. In this role Nicholas is responsible for the Joint Cyber Security Centre Brisbane, an initiative that brings together business, the research community and all levels of government to collaborate on cyber security in an open and cooperative environment.

Nicholas has over 10 years’ experience in the security field. Before joining the ACSC, Nicholas carried out a range of national security-related roles in the Australian Government. Nicholas has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Queensland and a Graduate Certificate in Terrorism, Safety and Security from Charles Sturt University.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the speaker at the end of the presentation.

Light refreshments will be served after the presentation.
