  • The TTPs that threat actors use to carry out a breach
  • How to use FortiEDR Threat Hunting capabilities to uncover threats on the network
  • How to use FortiSIEM analytics to discover attacker behaviour based on attack techniques
  • How to use FortiDeceptor to find attacker activity and shorten attacker dwell time

Peter Kahrilas is a cyber security professional with over 15 years of experience helping organisations leverage technology to drive business outcomes and strengthen their security posture. Currently working with Fortinet, Peter specialises in designing and delivering security solutions that enable organisations to detect, respond to, and mitigate advanced threats across complex environments. His expertise spans network security, threat intelligence, and modern security operations, with a strong focus on aligning security strategy to real-world business risk.

Nick Henderson is the Security Operations Technical Lead for Australia and New Zealand at Fortinet, bringing nearly 20 years of experience across IT and cyber security, with a focus on network security and security operations. He has held a broad range of technical roles spanning both pre- and post-sales, supporting organisations across industries including healthcare, education, finance, and gaming. Nick possesses deep expertise in threat detection, incident response, and security operations, with a particular emphasis on leveraging automation and AI-driven technologies to strengthen organisational resilience. He is passionate about helping security teams stay ahead of evolving threats, combining hands-on technical knowledge with real-world experience to deliver practical, outcome-focused strategies that reduce risk and enhance operational effectiveness.

What to bring: Please bring your laptop. The workshop will take place in one of TAFE QLD's computer rooms, where each attendee will have access to an individual second screen. All necessary equipment to connect your laptop to the screen will be provided.
