AISA ACT Branch Meeting | 26 February 2026

AISA Branch Meeting
Hosted in combination with the AISA ACT Branch and ISACA, this meeting offers members the chance to connect with fellow professionals, build valuable new professional relationships, and broaden your expertise in an engaging environment. The evening will open with a captivating presentation, followed by a networking session with light refreshments.

Session Title:
Quantum Risks: What's Real, What's Not, And What You Should Do

2025 was the International Year of Quantum, but arguably 2026 should be the Year of Post-Quantum. In this talk we will explore the cyber security risks that quantum technology could create, and dispel some common myths about what you need to worry about and what the potential solutions are. We will then look at practical steps that organisations can take to understand and manage their risks, and dive into the latest guidance from ACSC on this topic and how this should be interpreted and applied.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the speaker and networking drinks with light refreshments will be served after the presentation.

Speaker:

Dr. Rajiv Shah, Managing Director, MDR Security
Rajiv Shah has a PhD in quantum physics, and over 25 years of experiencing cyber security, working for government and commercial clients across the globe. He is Managing Director of MDR Security, helping clients to make technology understandable, effective and safe and secure to use. His work includes cyber security strategy and architecture, big data and artificial intelligence, and advanced communication systems and networks.

Rajiv is also a Fellow of the Australian Strategic Policy Institute and has published a number of strategic papers on cyber and critical technology policy research.
