Brisbane Branch Meeting - July 19th

Brisbane Branch Meeting
This months event will be an interactive discussion, brainstorming the creation of a collaborative discussion paper on the security posture of local SME's and measures that can be taken to improve

SME Security Panel, Raising the Baseline

Panel:

  • Adam Cunningham, Head of Risk and Security at UnitingCare Queensland;
  • Myles Agnew, Security Professional at QLD DCCSDS;
  • Tim Hill, Accounts and HR Manager at Lighthouse Care;
  • Tim Smith, Director of Yell IT Group.

The infosec profession and the services they provide is currently concentrated in the larger and better financed organisations. While these organisations provide many of our essential services, SME's provide the majority of employment opportunities and localised supply of services to the public and enterprises alike. How do we address this gap in capacity which affects all of us as consumers and businesses?

The goal of this interactive panel discussion is to brainstorm the creation of a collaborative discussion paper on the security posture of local SME's and what measures can be taken to improve it.

The meeting will be initially lead by 4 a group of panelists who have a strong understanding of and exposure to SME's and their security needs. In doing so they will set the scope of the activity.
