AISA is proud to be hosting an online presentation on the key findings of The 2021 State of Cyber Fitness in Australian small businesses white paper which was one of Australia’s largest cyber security projects to research the cyber fitness of Australian small businesses and conducted in collaboration with Cynch Security, Deakin University and RMIT University and supported by AustCyber.

Panellists:
Michelle Price - CEO, AustCyber
Michelle was AustCyber’s inaugural Chief Operating Officer and Company Secretary, joining the company in January 2017 and was appointed CEO in April 2018. Prior to joining AustCyber, Michelle was the first Senior Adviser for Cyber Security at the National Security College within The Australian National University and developed the blueprint for the ANU Cyber Institute. Before joining the ANU, she held various strategy and risk management roles across the Australian Government, including at the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet.

Prior to government, Michelle spent ten years in the food safety segment of Australia’s food manufacturing sector, focused on risk management, supply chain security and strategic communication. Michelle is a director on the board of the Australian Cyber Collaboration Centre (A3C) and co-Chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Futures Council on Cybersecurity. She also holds positions on senior industry and government groups in Australia and internationally, including the Prime Minister’s Digital Technology Taskforce Advisory Group, the Centre of Excellence for Quantum Computation and Communication Technology’s Advisory Board and Xero’s Security Governance Group.

Susie Jones - CEO and Co-founder, Cynch
An experienced cybersecurity, risk, insurance and innovation leader, having worked at Willis, Marsh, and Australia Post. Now Co-founder at Cynch, Susie’s passion is finding a way to help small business leaders take back control of their risks.

Prof Matthew Warren - Director of Centre for Cyber Security Research, RMIT University
Matthew is the Director of the RMIT University Centre for Cyber Security Research and Innovation and a Professor of Cyber Security at RMIT University. He has held roles such as Deputy Director of University Research Centre, Head of School, Deputy Head of School, Program Leader for several programs during his tenure at Deakin University. 

Matthew is a researcher in the areas of Cyber Security and Computer Ethics. He has received numerous grants and awards from national and international funding bodies, such as: Australian Research Council (ARC); Engineering Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC) in the United Kingdom; National Research Foundation (NRF) in South Africa. Matthew has taught in Australia, Finland, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.

Dr Graeme Pye - Lecturer, Deakin University
Dr Graeme Pye is a Lecturer in the Department of Information Systems and Business Analytics in Deakin Business School. He completed his PhD in Information Systems, Security Analysis and Modelling in 2009, and has been a lecturer at the Department since 2004.
