Topic: A fireside chat on the Security of Critical Infrastructure (SOCI) Act

Natasha and Greg will have a fireside chat on the SOCI Act, how the reform came about, the impact and considerations for the different industry sectors,
finishing with a Q&A session for the audience.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the speakers. This session will be NOT be recorded. 

Speakers: 

Greg Miller is KPMG’s lead cyber partner for the Infrastructure, Government and Healthcare Sector and also leads the firm’s Critical Infrastructure practice. Greg re-joined KPMG after spending four years at the Department of Home Affairs, where he filled a variety of roles including being the head of Intelligence and the Deputy National Cyber Security Adviser.

It was in this role that Greg oversaw the development of the 2020 Cyber Security Strategy and the design of the reforms to the Security of Critical Act 2018. Greg has worked in a variety of high profile national security and economic policy roles across his career, including overseeing national strategies, major reviews and transformative reforms. He started his career as a counter-terrorism analyst and worked in Iraq in the multinational headquarters as a young analyst. Greg lives in Canberra with his young family and follows a number of unreliable sporting teams.


Natasha Passley, is KPMG’s lead Cyber Partner for Financial Services, and is the National Cyber Lead for Insurance.  With 20 years’ experience in the Financial Services sector across the UK and Australia, she has a breadth of experience helping global banks and insurers achieve their regulatory compliance, risk, security and technology objectives. 

She has led large scale compliance programs for multiple financial services institutions across different jurisdictions such as European Asia and Australia.  Natasha loves translating technical and security strategy and vision into actionable actions for orgnaisations to take forward, and has held multiple roles across expertise across strategy, architecture, risk reduction, program transformation and governance.  Natasha started her career as a technical support analyst, and is from the UK, having lived in Germany and Spain, before settling in Australia, where she lives with her husband.
