Topic: The Next Generation of Security Professionals
By the year 2026, current projections indicate that Australia will need an additional 18,000 security workers in the industry. With a growing number of education providers beginning to invest in a more extensive security curriculum, projections point to graduates addressing majority of the skill shortage. Today I’ll be speaking about how to engage with this new generation and how companies can best attract this new talent.
Speaker: Jessica Williams
Jessica is an undergraduate computer science student at the Queensland University of Technology and Security Bid and Engagement Readiness Consultant at Alcorn Security Group. She is involved in QUT White Hats as a committee member and is the Chapter Lead for AWSN Brisbane Cadets. After experiencing a disconnect between security students and industry professionals, she has been aiming to assist in bridging this gap through providing opportunities for students and industry to connect. Jessica has big aspirations in the security industry and is currently working towards obtaining her OSCP early next year.
Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the speaker at the end of the presentation.
Light refreshments will be served before the presentation.
