Branch Chair - Nang Tip
  Nang joined AISA Melbourne branch committee in 2017 and has over 15 years of ICT experience in both private and public sectors. Nang specialises in Cloud and Container applications security, penetration testing, governance, risk and compliance assessment of ICT systems. 
Nang is currently an ICT Security Assistant Director at the Australian Bureau of Statistics and manages an applications security assurance team to ensure systems are implemented to safeguard the data and met the Australian Government Cyber Security Framework. Nang recent career highlights are the security leadership roles at the Australian Same-Sex Marriage Survey (https://bit.ly/2QOaKDx) and the Data Integration Partnership for Australia (https://bit.ly/2Davy0j) projects.
Nang holds a Master Degree in IT Management and CISSP (ISC2) , CDPSE (ISACA) certifications. 

Deputy Chair - Ryan Dukes
Ryan joined the Melbourne branch committee in January 2020.
Ryan is a senior consultant with Pure Security in Melbourne, where he is a core advisory team member specialising in the areas of Governance, Risk & Compliance. 
He enjoys dissecting the regulatory landscape for both local and international clients. His strengths are in performing business continuity management activities and performing threat & risk assessments. 
Ryan holds certifications from both ISC2 (CISSP) and ISACA (CRISC & CISA)

Tim Methot

Tim comes from a broad ICT background stemming over 30 years. His focus has been in testing networks, traffic generation, analytics, network design, penetration testing, and IT Security. Tim’s roles have been in management, sales, marketing, and consulting. He joined AISA and OWASP in 2014 and is working towards CISSP. Tim is a member of TITAB, has qualifications from Cisco, HP, Cert 4 in Training & Assessment, Engineering degree from Canada, and an MBA from Monash University. 
 

Vanessa Sunassee

Vanessa holds 15 years consumer banking experience with seven years at middle management position and has worked as a Retail Bank Manager within three leading financial institutions in Mauritius. Since coming to Australia in 2018, she has been working is an academic leader and an Excellence Ambassador. Vanessa is passionate about challenging the status-quo over major and mundane things in life which triggered her interest in cybersecurity. She is now a cybersecurity enthusiast with particular interests in privacy, information security, governance, risk and compliance. Vanessa holds a Masters of Cybersecurity and a Masters in Business Administration.

 

Mohsin Sheikh

Mohsin joined AISA in December 2017 and soon after successfully volunteered to join the Melbourne branch as a volunteer. Mohsin is a valued member of the branch committee, attending and supporting events whilst growing his network of cyber security professionals. Mohsin's information security journey started as a programmer, moved to system design, implementation and administration, IT project management before leading to cyber security. Within cyber security, he has worked in roles including security operations, compliance and these days he's associated with NAB in a risk related role. Mohsin has specific interest in cloud and application security. 

 

David Dowling

David joined AISA in 2014 and has participated in a variety of National and state-based events and volunteered as a Speaker Liaison for the 2022 CyberCon, in addition to volunteering at the AISA Victoria branch he is also a volunteer at BSides Melbourne. David has 18 years of experience working within the IT industry and has worked in Seoul, Taipei, San Francisco and Melbourne in a variety of roles in sales, Security Architecture, Consulting and current works as a Security Engineer. David has also previously delivered guest lectures for Melbourne Polytechnic’s Cert IV in Cyber Security on CIS Critical Security Controls. David is a Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), SABSA Chartered Foundation (SCF) and holds a number of vendor certifications with Microsoft, Qualys, Netskope, Splunk and enjoys learning with PentesterLab. David’s focus in Cyber Security is application security and vulnerability management and regularly attends Ruxmon, OWASP and SecTalks events in Melbourne.

 

Ross Brenner

Ross joined the Melbourne branch committee in February 2024, bringing with him over 15 years of expertise in various aspects of security, including military service, physical security, security education and cybersecurity. In his current role as a Solution Architect, Ross is helping clients tackle complex global Identity, Credential, and Access Management (ICAM) challenges. As a certified AWS Solution Architect and an AWS Academy Accredited Educator, Ross combines his practical skills with a solid academic foundation, holding a Science degree from Monash University. He is a strong advocate for continuous learning, humility and the ‘beginner’s mind’ approach to every task and role. Ross also holds a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and finds teaching to be among his most fulfilling roles.
