Digital Fraud and Cyber-crime

Digital security is entrenched in Westpac's DNA and we will show you how that has developed due to the external threats that have targeted our customers and us since our 1st foray into cyberspace. We will then switch our focus to talk about the trends we are seeing that are targeting in particular businesses and large organisations.

Finally, we will close out with some strategies and tips we have used or seen that are effective in adding additional layers of preventative controls to make you and your organisation a hard target.

As one of Westpac’s leading experts in digital fraud and cybercrime, Josh Nast is a Senior Manager in Digital Security who leads the day-to-day security operations for online banking across the Westpac Group; including Westpac, St.George, BankSA and Bank of Melbourne.  With experience, that dates back to the 1st cybercrime attacks that targeted Westpac and its customers Josh and his team are responsible for the robust security measures and real-time risk based authentication that provide our customers ultimate peace of mind when banking online.
