Speaker one: Dr. Christian Schlaeger Global Head of Cyber Security of Giesecke & Devrient (G+D) (International Speaker)
Dr. Christian Schlaeger is the Global Head of the Cyber Security Product and Service portfolio for G+D’s financial, MNO, enterprise, industrial and critical infrastructure customers. In his role, Christian is responsible for the creation of G+D’s industry leading solutions and services including digital identity, access and authentication management as well as IoT and Industry 4.0.
Christian also recently participated at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona and will offer the latest insights on innovation and emerging trends, particularly in relation to the connected consumer, digital transformation and cyber security related challenges and opportunities.
Christian has over 12 years of global experience in manufacturing, telco, automotive, insurance and security industries. Before joining G+D Christian was Senior Vice President at Metafinanz, a subsidiary of Allianz Insurance and lead the creation of the VW, Bayer, BASF and Allianz security service joint venture DCSO in Berlin. Prior to Allianz, Christian worked in IT transformation projects for SwissLife in Zurich and as a Manager for EY’s security advisory practice with global clients from a broad and diverse portfolio of industries .
TOPIC ONE: Cyber Security: Digital Identity, Authentication and Access Management
This presentation will offer the latest insights on innovation and emerging trends, particularly in relation to Industrial IoT, Industry 4.0 and Cyber Security. Christian will cover topics relevant to developments for the connected consumer, digital transformation and cyber security related challenges and opportunities across a diverse portfolio of sectors, including automotive (8 out of the top 10 European connected cars are provisioned by G+D e-sim technology), healthcare, smart manufacturing, banking and telecommunications.

Speaker two: Ahmed Khanji CEO & Founder of Gridware Cybersecurity
Ahmed is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Gridware Cybersecurity. Ahmed has over 15 years’ experience in senior and executive roles across the risk, governance and information security industry with an extensive background in legal compliance, audit and cyber intelligence reporting for large enterprises in Australia. He has worked in a variety of industry sectors, including but not limited to, government, financial, IT services, customer support, software development and academia. Ahmed has a Bachelor of Science from the University of Sydney and a Bachelor of Laws from the Western Sydney University. He is also an accredited lead auditor for ISO27001 Information Security Management Systems.
TOPIC TWO: Strategy verses Governance: How Cryptocurrencies and Blockchain Technology is both an opportunity and a threat to cybersecurity
Blockchain technology has gained tremendous traction in current discourse through its inherent characterisation of the three dimensions of cybersecurity, being confidentiality, integrity and accessibility. However, critics who question the authenticity, security and even volatility of the technology is driving an increasing hesitation for organisations to adopt blockchain solutions. Whilst the decentralization and peer-to-peer characteristics of the technology make it harder to disrupt than conventional architecture types, the alluring nature of hacking cryptocurrency coupled with the technology’s weakness against preventing denial of service (DDoS) attacks makes for a challenging argument between the strategic benefits and governance implications.
