Perth Branch Meeting - August 13

Join us for the Perth Branch Meeting with guest speaker Michael Richards, Microsoft Australia presenting on the best use capabilities in the Windows and Office 365 licenses

Topic: Leveraging your investment: Microsoft security capabilities you probably already own
Budgets are tight. Security and compliance are at the top of everyone’s agenda, but chances are you don’t have the resources you need to get everything you want. Microsoft offers an extensive set of integrated security and compliance controls, many of which are available in the licenses you probably already own – using these capabilities you can simplify your environment and leverage your valuable resources for the greatest business impact.

In this session we’ll discuss how you can best use capabilities in the Windows and Office 365 licenses you might have at home or in your organisation, for example:

  • data loss prevention
  • multifactor or passwordless authentication
  • application whitelisting
  • desktop antivirus
  • security baselines
  • information protection

This session will primarily focus on Windows 10 and Microsoft 365 Business/Enterprise/Education, however we’ll aim to include something for everyone!

Speaker: Michael Richards, Security and Compliance Specialist at Microsoft Australia
Michael has over twenty years of experience in information technology and security. Michael currently helps commercial and government customers in Western Australia and South Australia to implement Microsoft’s Modern Workplace security solutions. Prior to this, Michael worked with Australian financial services customers nationally as a specialist in Office 365 security and compliance, and before that helped organisations across Western Canada move to the cloud. Michael has held a variety of roles including application development, consulting, technical training, and systems administration. Michael currently resides in his home town of Perth with his wife and two daughters.

Participants will have the opportunity to ask questions of the speaker at the end of the presentation.

Light refreshments will be served after the presentation.
