AISA and ISC2 SSCP Online Training (June-August 2024)

SSCP Training
In conjunction with ISC2, AISA is offering members SSCP online training. The course will be delivered online twice per week (Tuesday and Thursday) from 7:00pm to 9:30pm (AEST). This training starts on 25 June and concludes on 15 August 2024.

 

 

Become a SSCP - Systems Security Certified Practitioner!
The Systems Security Certified Practitioner (SSCP) certification, administered by ISC2, is a globally recognized standard of achievement that demonstrates an information technology professionals’ skills and hands-on experience securely designing, implementing and managing an organisation’s information assets. 

Who Earns a SSCP?
This entry-level IT security certification is ideal for aspiring information security or cyber security professionals motivated in entering the field that seeks to advance their career. IT security practitioners already in the field can avail from obtaining this certification. There are analysts, consultants, system administrators, and engineers as well as network security engineers and database administrators, for example, whom all pursued this certification and received the recognition they deserve.

Earning the SSCP certification will show your current or prospective employer that you have the knowledge and skills to ensure strong security practices are implemented and maintained across IT operations. It demonstrates the ability of the practitioner to manage an organisations day-to-day information technology infrastructure using cyber security best practices, policies and procedures. The SSCP is an excellent precursor to the ISC2 CISSP, once you have attached the relevant experience requirements to attain the CISSP and is ISO 17024 accredited. This SSCP course prepares learners for the SSCP exam by covering the material for each of the 7 domains, as well as providing specific exam tips to make the certification process as easy as possible.

The training will be delivered online twice per week (Tuesday and Thursday) from 7:00pm until 9:30pm (AEST) over 8 weeks on the following dates:

Recordings:
If you are unable to attend an online session, the sessions will be recorded, and the recordings are available to students up to 60 days after the course finishes

Acquire one year of experience:
To qualify for the SSCP, candidates must pass the exam and have at least one year of cumulative, paid work experience in one or more of the seven domains of the ISC2 SSCP Common Body of Knowledge. If you don’t yet have the required experience, you can become an Associate of ISC2 after successfully passing the SSCP exam, will then have two years to earn the experience needed for the SSCP certification. 

Delivery:
The training sessions will be conducted by ISC2 certified instructor and via the ISC2 LMS online portal (WebEx). Students will also receive access to the online course resources. Please note that this course does not include the cost of the SSCP exam.

Cost:
The course is offered to only AISA members. Please note that to get the maximum benefit for students, we have to limit attendance to 25 attendees

  9. An email will be sent 2 week before the start date from AISA with details on how to log into the ISC2 portal (enrolment details).

Booking your examination:
In addition to the training being offered by AISA, as part of the process to become certified, you will be required to pass a certification examination. This examination needs to be booked separately and is not included in the AISA training. ISC2 directly administers the examination process and you can purchase the examination voucher for your intended certification by visiting the ISC2 website at https://www.isc2.org/Register-for-Exam

It is recommended that you purchase the examination voucher at the time of booking your training. This helps you establish a goal that you will sit the exam after the training course is complete and you have adequately revised following the training to be ready to attempt the exam. 

Cancellation Policy:
AISA reserves the right to cancel any training course because of insufficient enrolments or other unforeseeable circumstances beyond AISA’s reasonable control (for example, accident or illness of the instructor). If AISA cancels a training course under the cancellation policy, the liability of AISA for an enrolled participant is limited to refunding any course fees that have been paid. No refund will be made if the participant is transferred to another course date. AISA is not liable for any other loss or expenses (direct or indirect) whatsoever, including travel and accommodation.

No transfers or substitutions
Please note that we are unable to substitute or transfer registrations into someone else’s name.

Access to resources

An email will be issued to a registrant, to enrol into the course at least 2 weeks prior to the commencement date of the training. Enrolment instructions will only be emailed out to registrants who have paid in full and all payments must be received prior to the commencement date.

Cancellation
All requests to cancel must be made in writing to Susanna Palermo at [email protected] no less than 14 days prior to the commencement date of the course. Please note that your cancellation is subject to the following:

  • Cancellation more than 14 days before the training: 100% refund of the fees
  • Cancellation 14 days or less before the training: No refund
  •  No refunds apply for non-attendance

Refund processing
Please note that refunds of registration fees are only available to registrants that cancel their registration at least 14 days prior to the commencement date of the training and may take up to 7 days to be processed.
