Become a CISSP - Certified Information Systems Security Professional
Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certification is a globally recognized standard of achievement that confirms an individual’s knowledge in the field of information security. CISSPs are information assurance professional who define the architecture, design, management and/or controls that assure the security of business environments. The CISSP is ideal for experienced security practitioners, managers and executives interested in proving their knowledge across a wide array of security practices and principles. AISA and ISC2 deliver the training to best prepare participants to successfully pass the CISSP certification exam. The certification is provided by ISC2 once participants pass the CISSP exam and apply with their work experience pre-requites.
Sessions & Times:
The training will be delivered online twice per week (Monday and Wednesday) from 7:00pm until 9:30pm (AEST) over 8 weeks on the following dates:

If you are unable to attend an online session, the sessions will be recorded, and the recordings are available to students up to 60 days after the course finishes.
Course Content:
The CISSP Online Instructor-Led Training offers the structure of a classroom with the flexibility of remote learning. Course content aligns with the CISSP exam outline and features live virtual instruction by an ISC2 Authorized Instructor, a verified security expert who holds the CISSP.
This course is designed for information security professionals with deep technical and managerial knowledge and experience to effectively design, engineer, and manage the overall security posture of an organization. It provides a comprehensive review of information systems security concepts and industry best practices, covering the following eight domains of the CISSP Common Body of Knowledge (CBK):
Domain 1: Security and Risk Management
Domain 2: Asset Security
Domain 3: Security Architecture and Engineering
Domain 4: Communication and Network Security
Domain 5: Identity and Access Management (IAM)
Domain 6: Security Assessment Testing
Domain 7: Security Operations
Domain 8: Software Development Security
Work Experience:
Candidates must have a minimum of five years cumulative paid work experience in two or more of the eight domains of the CISSP CBK. Earning a four-year college degree or regional equivalent or an additional credential from the ISC2 approved list will satisfy one year of the required experience. Education credit will only satisfy one year of experience. A candidate who doesn’t have the required experience to become a CISSP may become an Associate of ISC2 by successfully passing the CISSP examination. Delivery:
The training sessions will be conducted by ISC2 certified trainers and via the ISC2 online portal (WebEx). Students will also receive access to the online training resources. Please note that this course does not include the cost of the CISSP exam.

The course is offered to only AISA members. Please note that to get the maximum benefit for students, we have to limit attendance to 25 attendees.

Booking your examination:
In addition to the training being offered by AISA, as part of the process to become certified, you will be required to pass a certification examination. This examination needs to be booked separately and is not included in the AISA training. ISC2 directly administers the examination process and you can purchase the examination voucher for your intended certification by visiting the website at https://www.isc2.org/Register-for-Exam.
Pricing for the CISSP examination is USD $749

It is recommended that you purchase the examination voucher at the time of booking your training. This helps you establish a goal that you will sit the exam after the training course is complete and you have adequately revised following the training to be ready to attempt the exam.
Cancellation Policy:
AISA reserves the right to cancel any training course because of insufficient enrolments or other unforeseeable circumstances beyond AISA’s reasonable control (for example, accident or illness of the instructor). If AISA cancels a training course under the cancellation policy, the liability of AISA for an enrolled participant is limited to refunding any course fees that have been paid. No refund will be made if the participant is transferred to another course date. AISA is not liable for any other loss or expenses (direct or indirect) whatsoever, including travel and accommodation.
No transfers or substitutions
Please note that we are unable to substitute or transfer registrations into someone else’s name.
Access to resources
An email will be issued to a registrant, to enrol into the course at least 2 weeks prior to the commencement date of the training. Enrolment instructions will only be emailed out to registrants who have paid in full and all payments must be received prior to the commencement date.
Cancellation
All requests to cancel must be made in writing to Susanna Palermo at [email protected] no less than 14 days prior to the commencement date of the course. Please note that your cancellation is subject to the following:
- Cancellation more than 14 days before the training: 100% refund of the fees
- Cancellation 14 days or less before the training: No refund
- No refunds apply for non-attendance
Refund processing
Please note that refunds of registration fees are only available to registrants that cancel their registration at least 14 days prior to the commencement date of the training and may take up to 7 days to be processed.
