This course is designed to provide participants, with no exposure to Big Data (BD), with knowledge and practical skills to start using Big Data in their teams/organisations.
Initially the course covers four (4) of the most popular technologies for processing Big Data –Hadoop, Spark, Hive and MongoDB. The 5th technology, KNIME is introduced, to show how Machine Learning is used to obtain business insights.
A distinguishing feature of the course is its practical aspect. At the end of each module there is an exercise designed to reinforce the concepts.
Most importantly, the last 3 hours of the course are devoted to creating a Big Data pilot, with 5 stages, starting with business problem analysis and finishing with producing business output.
