AISA Membership
AISA welcomes as members all individuals who support our objectives:
• To promote awareness and understanding of information security issues in an independent and unbiased manner, and
• To foster and promote the development of professionalism in the Information Security Industry and encourage the professional development of our members.
Requirements for AISA Membership
Please note AISA membership is for individuals only.
1. Provide your contact and other details as requested on the Membership Form, and keep AISA informed of any changes to these details via email to Admin@aisa.org.au
N.B. You must download and complete this Membership Form whether you apply via post or online (see below).
2. Agree to abide by the Standards of Conduct in our Code of Ethics
3. Pay the Annual Membership Fee promptly each financial year (01 July to 30 June) - The AISA Annual Membership Fee is still $50.00 only.
Applications from NEW members received during 2010 will be valid to 30 June 2011.
Applications from new members received during 2009, up to midnight on Monday 21 December 2009, are valid to 30 June 2010.
How to renew AISA Membership to 30 June 2011
AISA Membership Renewal Notices with attached Tax Invoice PDF will be emailed to all members who need to renew in the week beginning Sunday 06 June 2010.
If you have not received your Renewal Notice and attached Tax Invoice PDF by Sunday 13 June 2010, please contact Admin@aisa.org.au
To renew online, simply go to the link underneath the Code of Ethics on this page, then press it to re-confirm your commitment to abide by our Code of Ethics and be transferred to a website where you can pay your Membership Fee to 30 June 2011 via MasterCard or Visa.
To renew via post, print out the Tax Invoice attached to your emailed Renewal Notice and post it (together with an Australia Post Money Order or Cheque payable to AISA Inc for $50.00) to AISA Membership Renewals, GPO Box 2157, Sydney NSW 2001.
You do not need to complete the AISA Membership Form, unless many of your details have changed over the past year, OR if you wish to pay via post and are unable to find your Tax Invoice.
N.B. All NEW member applicants must download and complete the AISA Membership Form as explained below. Anyone who allowed their membership to lapse in a previous year is considered a new member applicant and must also follow the process described below.
N.N.B. If you joined AISA in 2010 you do not need to renew until 30 June 2011.

How to apply for AISA Membership - New Members
To apply for membership online, carefully read the information on this web page, including our Code of Ethics, then press on the link underneath the Code of Ethics to state you agree to abide by the Ethics statement and be transferred to a website where you can pay your Membership Fee via MasterCard or Visa. Please also complete the Membership Form so we have all required information for you, and email it to Admin@aisa.org.au and/or post it.
To become an AISA Member via post, please print out the Membership Form and post it (together with an Australia Post Money Order or Cheque payable to AISA Inc for $50.00) to AISA (the address is on the form and also given below).
Applications from NEW members received during 2010 will be valid to 30 June 2011.
Applications will be processed within 1 to 4 weeks of receipt. If you are a new member applicant who needs proof of AISA member status urgently for a member discount, please email Admin@aisa.org.au or call 0416 242 453.

Further information re membership processes
AISA Membership Administration closes over Christmas and January each year, re-opening after the Australia Day public holiday. Applications received after AISA Membership Administration closes prior to Christmas are treated as though received the day after the Australia Day public holiday and processed then.
AISA Rules state: Any member who has not renewed by 01 November in any year, or other deadline as decided by AISA Executive Committee, will be considered to have resigned.
AISA membership can not be transferred from one individual to another.
Members who did not renew for Financial Year ending 30 June 2009 or earlier
Any member who joined in 2008 or before, and who did not renew by 21 December 2009, or who failed to renew for any earlier financial year, are considered to have resigned from AISA and need to re-apply as a new member.
Privacy Statement
AISA acknowledges that any personal information that it collects through this website from members or potential members is used for the members' participation in AISA activities and for the purpose of processing a potential member's application (as the case may be).
Personal information is disclosed to other members who request to inspect AISA's Membership List in accordance with AISA's Constitution, Rules and By-laws. Personal information is not disclosed to any other party except where such disclosure is required by law.
AISA collects information that identifies, for each page accessed on the AISA site, the network identity of the machine that accessed the relevant pages. AISA retains this usage information for purposes of network analysis, usage analysis, and research into usage patterns for the purpose of improving AISA services. Access to and use of this information is restricted to AISA management and staff, and to researchers working on AISA projects and subject to an agreement to adhere to privacy obligations consistent with this Privacy Statement.
AISA reserves the right to gather more extensive information that stated above
(a) if any attempted access to AISA raises security issues (and, where necessary, to make disclosures to relevant authorities); and
(b) for network analyses on an occasional basis.

Code of Ethics
It is an essential part of a professional association to regulate the behaviours of its members. AISA requires that its members abide by this Code of Ethics (‘Code’). Adherence to this code will help to produce a highly valued, respected and mature Information Security profession. All members of AISA must act in accordance with the Standards of Conduct set out in this Code. This Code sets down minimum standards of conduct and professional values and is not intended to cover all possible situations in terms of specific behaviour. A member using this Code to resolve ambiguous or contentious issues is expected to take into account the spirit of the Code.
