CISSP Study Groups
The AISA CISSP Study Group is a volunteer run initiative to
bring together AISA members who are studying for the CISSP in
weekly sessions in the lead up to the exam and (where possible)
provide mentors who are subject matter experts in their designated
CBK Domain.
The primary goal of these sessions is to give the participants a
formalised structure for study in the lead up to the exam. The
secondary goal is to allow knowledge sharing from both participants
and mentors to demonstrate how the concepts covered relate to
real-world experience. It's also a great way to meet with
like-minded individuals to expand networks for support and lively
debate.
It is important to note that this is NOT an instructor led course
but rather a forum for getting together each week to work through
some of the more difficult concepts and help eachother on the road
to certification and professional development.
Mentors are drawn from all corners of the information security
community who have passed the CISSP exam and applied the knowledge
in a real-world environment.
The sessions consist of meeting for a few hours one night a week
in the 3 months leading up to the exam. A powerpoint presentation
is presented to work through the content of the relevant domain as
participants work together to understand concepts and reinforce
their own learning.

groups such an ongoing success. Whether they have led the sessions
or provided slide content, guest presentations, practice questions
or feedback, the reflections from past participants is very
positive and shows the value these sessions provide.
Thank you to all who have contributed and continue to make
these sessions an on-going success.

Call for
Volunteers
AISA is trying to run regular study groups in all capital cities
and we are always keen to hear from those who would like to help us
to either start a study group in their local area or contribute in
whatever way they can. Contibutions can be made by leading study
groups, providing content for the presentations, developing
practice questions or sitting in on sessions to share your
expertise.
Please consider volunteering by contacting cissp@aisa.org.au
with contact details, location and which domain/s you would like to
assist with. All of our volunteers will attest that they get just
as much out of participating as the candidates who are preparing
for the exam
