Topic: A Business Case for
Externalised Authorisation
In line with the global trend, Externalised Authorisation is
gaining momentum in Australia as more and more organisations look
for a flexible and relatively easy way to deploy solutions that
speed up and improve their access control processes. Identity
Management industry veteran and expert Gerry Gebel will explain why
so many organisations, including the two largest financial
institutions in the world, are onboard with ABAC (Attribute Based
Access Control) entitlement management solutions using XACML.
Speaker: Gerry
Gebel
Gerry is President of Axiomatics Americas and former VP and
Service Director for Burton Groups ® Identity Management Practice.
He has authored or contributed to more than 70 reports and articles
on topics such as authorisation, federation, identity and access
governance, user provisioning and other IdM topics. Gerry has also
been instrumental in advancing the state of identity-based
interoperability by leading demonstration projects for federation,
entitlement management, and user-centric standards and
specifications. In 2007, Gebel facilitated the first ever XACML
interoperability demonstration at the Burton Group Catalyst
conference. In addition, Gebel has nearly 15 years experience in
the financial services industry including architecture development,
engineering, integration, and support of Internet, distributed, and
mainframe systems.
