Re-emergence of Information Governance
Starts: Wednesday 16 March 2011, 5:15PM
Finishes: Wednesday 16 March 2011, 7:00PM
Venue: Ernst and Young, 11 Mounts Bay
Road, Perth WA 6000
Topic: "Re-emergence of Information
Governance"
This session will explore the context and objectives of
information governance as it relates to protecting information as
well as meeting the broader information objectives of an
organisation. Glen will provide an overview of the drivers to
improve information governance, the current state of maturity, and
how organisations are re-inventing themselves to meet this
increasingly important requirement.
On a broader sense, information governance includes three key
objectives around security and protection; data quality and
integrity; and availability and accessibility. All three objectives
of information governance need to be addressed to ensure that data
can be trusted for decision making and it requires increasing
collaboration between the business and IT. The challenge for the
organisation is the ability to navigate through the many
theoretical industry practices and design a fit-for-purpose
information governance framework that works for their
environment.
