Topic: CHOGM 2011 - Security Environment
and Impact on Perth
CHOGM Perth 2011 is unlikely to be incident free but are Canberra
based organisers and the State Government playing down any security
risk? After all, it's being held in Perth. Just how bad could it
get?
In this month's presentation, Chris Cubbage focuses on the
potential security impacts to Perth during the 2011 CHOGM
conference.
Presenter: Chris Cubbage
Chris is an independent security professional having held
positions with WA Police, Australian Crime Commission, Edith Cowan
University and is currently a Director or Amlec House Pty Limited
and MySecurity Media Pty Limited.
Since CHOGM Perth was announced, Chris has been monitoring
preparations closely. Chris has attended all public and open
security industry briefings and has held two security specific
workshops to assist with counter-terrorism and security
arrangements. Chris will provide an overview of CHOGM arrangements
and the security environment in terms of terrorism, protests,
emerging political issues and why CHOGM Perth may not be guaranteed
to be a success.
