Venue: Ernst and Young, 11 Mounts Bay

Topic: "An Introduction to Securing Control
Systems" - This session will discuss the options for securing
Control Systems. Control Systems are used to record, monitor and
control equipment or plants in real time in a range of industries
including telecommunications, transportation, water and waste,
energy, oil and gas refining.
There are a number of constraints and limitations which drive
behaviours in the design and deployment of security controls for
these systems. This session will start with a brief explanation of
the differences in security priorities that apply to Control
Systems, followed by a security control design and deployment
options discussion for these sensitive environments.
Speaker: Crispin Harris
Crispin Harris has a broad range of security experience in both
the public and private sector. His current role is leading security
in the IT Operations environment for Fortescue Metals Group which
covers both enterprise and SCADA systems including some National
Infrastructure responsibilities.
