Topic: SAML 2.0 for Dummies
In this presentation, Michael and Paul will introduce the SAML
2.0 protocol by way of two examples:
- Using the web browser SSO Profile to provide federated sign-on,
and
- Using the WSS SAML Token Profile to authenticate web
services.
They will outline why you should consider using SAML when
implementing controls in your organisation.
NOTE: Despite the title, a basic understanding
of web protocols and web applications will be assumed for this
presentation.
Speakers: Michael Linnett and Paul Green
Michael and Paul have recently been working on the IDES project
as architects. Paul was lead identity architect on the IDES
project. He has a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) and has been
working in Information Security since 1996. He is a member of AISA
and a CISSP. Michael has been working on the IDES project with
Paul. He has a Bachelor of Electronic Systems Engineering, is a
member of the Institute of Engineers Australia and has a broad
background in telecommunications and IT. Both Michael and Paul work
with Business Aspect.
